The day I died was the day I started to live.

In 2011, I went through one of the darkest periods of my life. I was living in my car, bankrupt, and overwhelmed by despair, feeling as though I had lost the will to go on.

On June 18th, 2011, I made the decision to end my life, which resulted in my heart stopping. Local police on patrol found me unconscious in my car, barely breathing, and called for an ambulance. On the way to the hospital, my heart flatlined, and paramedics defibrillated me twice without success. Although my heart had stopped, I was fully aware - l could hear the paramedics speaking beside me and even felt the defibrillations.

When I arrived at the hospital, I felt a part of myself rise up, observing everything occurring in the emergency room from above. I saw doctors and nurses working to revive me and felt an overwhelming sense of peace and acceptance. At this point, my heart had stopped beating for 10 minutes. As they defibrillated me once more, l experienced a powerful jolt that brought me back into my physical body in an instant. The doctors were astounded; they said they hadn't expected me to survive, let alone without a brain injury.

This experience was life changing. Over the next decade, I embarked on a spiritual journey that led me to leaving my career with the Queensland Police and start a Reiki healing practice. I came to realize it simply wasn’t my time. I had a purpose yet to fulfil - a calling to help others to heal and find their way through life’s hardest challenges
